My clutch is at 29.8mm now with 21,500 miles. Any suggestions on whether or not to replace it during the major? I do not track the car. When I bought it with 7k miles the clutch was at 31.4mm

I'd like to hear more opinions about the use of different engine-oil. Mobil1 0W40 was the factory-fill, but I can imagine knowledge about oil has developed. The reduced ZDDP levels might affect the pitting of camshafts, especially with engines that are not frequently used.

So you are at slightly less than 50% worn at 21500 miles. If it was me I'd leave it, you could be close on 40k miles before you need to change it.

Porsche UK are currently using Mobil 1 0-40 New Life for the GT, there are some subtle differences between New Life and Mobil 1 (non New Life) but I am in no way qualified to interpret whether there is a meaningful difference with regards to potential cam lobe wear. Perhaps jimmyrepasi can offer some comment:

Mobil 1:

Mobil 1 New Life:

That is what I am thinking as well. There is an owner on the board that went over 40k miles on original clutch. I am all for properly maintaining my cars, but if it doesn't need the clutch than why do it? The trick is using the clutch properly so you're not replacing it every few thousand miles.
