Not me but bet we all know someone on this board that's of the 500. I've been reading some articles on this thing and the performance is going to be other-worldly, suck-your-eyeballs-out-of-their-sockets kind of stuff. Those without a g-suit need not apply.

Every piece has been fastidiously engineered to keep weight to an absolute minimum. Each door structure, for instance, weighs just 22 pounds (the middle of each door will feature a unique transparent panel, said to enhance the sensation of speed as the road whistles by you just inches away). The front fenders weigh less than 1.5 pounds each. The towering rear wing checks in at less than 11 pounds. McLaren even fussed over the Senna’s nuts and bolts, reducing their weight by 33 percent. All told, the Senna boasts a dry weight of just 2,641 pounds.
That’s insane.

Technically, 499 to McLaren elite, #500 was auctioned for 2.7MM to a chap who must be decidedly not elite (in McLaren world) to benefit the Senna family's charity in Brazil.

Yes I was very lucky to have seen full size clay model October 2016. VERY HARD TO KEEP SECRET.

I am getting a later one for various reasons. Full alien spec. Finalized paint stuff about 4 months ago and have been working with McLaren for about 12 months on BP23 spec also.

I'm beginning to get this car after being massively turned off by the launch colors.

That said a student of McL history will tell you this ain't the be all end all. There will be some GTR LT superlative edition.

The smart thing will be for Woking to offer owners an upgrade path when that comes out... they've burned enough early adopters enough times...

Every factory builds a faster next generation - this one is insanity.

I don't think they burnt early adopters - owned the MP4 factory gave every owner a 30hp gain no charge - only wish there was a dealer closer than 300 miles.

Try buying a new Ferrari - the buy in alone will cost 50 - 150k then you are hooked to sell them back your car to stay in the cycle.

McLaren is leading with engine performance and has been since the MP4 - only regret was not buying the P1 which was offered to all.

IMHO - the only problem with McLaren is they need more dealers to service more territory which would swallow up production.
