Talking Die cast models

I have done numerous searches but can't find a die cast model of a 1986 Carrera. I realize that it might be hard to find a specific model year but I would settle for any 1984-1988 Carrera die cast model! Any suggestions??

Thanks,

Brad

Hi Brad,

A company called Anson do an 18th scale diecast coupe', Targa and full convertable and call it a turbo. It looks more like a std Carrera to me.

I bought mine on EBAY from Germany. From time to time they come up in Yellow, red, metallic green or black. I paid about $16 + carraige for mine.

Search under Porsche - (under items available to the uk over here so it includes foreign areas as well as domestic) and it'll eventually turn something up.

regards

There is a company called NZG that made them for Porsche in 1:43
I have a few, they are decent. Check ebay.

Check out www.autofanatics.com They have been talking about getting die casts of the G series 911s. I wish someone would do a clubsport or even a good 930. Years ago, I built up a model of my 911 using a mixture of two models. I got a Carrera 3.2 model and then a 930 model. Both Fujimi. Then I took the wheels and the tail from the 930 and added to the Carrera to arrive at my car. It worked. If only I had not lost it in a move. Here, check this one out.www.autofanatics.com/por911tar19.html

Hi Brad,
Finding an exact model of your car might be easy or maybe not!!! If you are not set on a specific size 1/43rd, 1/24th or 1/18th it will be easy. If you want only a 1/18th......good luck. Back in the early 80s TONKA made a pretty nice version in 1/16th (just a fraction larger than 1/18th). Not easy to find these days, but they do pop up occasionally. 1/43rd scale 911s were made by NZG, Solido, and Shuco. These will appear on Ebay from time to time. The easiest way is a 1/24th scale plastic kit made by Fujimi. You can paint it the exact color of your car.

Jon, I think the Anson you are talking about is a 90-94 version.

Autofanatics is working on a 1/18th version of the mid 80s 911 due out sometime this year.

Brad, if you let me know specifically what you are looking for (coupe, cab, targa, ext. color, int. color) I might be able to help. Let me know.

Brad......Is that a Turbo bodied car or narrow body with a tail? And do you mean "whale tail" as in the turbo version or smaller carrera tail?

The Franklin Mint made a g.red 911 cab in the 86-89 style but when they come up on eBay they are usually over $150. I remember seeing them listed before they were available then forgot until too late - missed opportunity! FM also made a police version targa (not sure the year) they go for big $ too.
I shop swap meets (Hershey, PA in May) and dont overlook the local K-B toys - actually very good prices but all newer models.

Brad......I'm leaving today to go to the Porsche Memmorabilia Meet in LA. I'll keep my eyes open for a model of your car. The closest thing I have in my collection is a 1/43rd NZG, that is stamped as a turbo but has a narrow body but with a turbo tail!! But it is gaurds red with black interior. I'm starting to "thin out" some of my collection (over 2000 Porsches) and would sell this one if your interested and if we can't find anything better at the PMM. I'll send you a pic when we get home next week.

Brad,

I was looking for an 89 guards red cab with black interior and tail. The closest I could get was an 89 guards red Speedster with black interior (no tail) from a Kevin's Hobbys (www.scale18.com) in British Columbia. Its a very nice 1:18 model by Maisto, and Kevin's Hobbys was good to deal with.
