Default Macan Turbo, low oil warning

Hi,

Our Macan Turbo has just under 10k kms on it (6K miles) and I received this warning yesterday morning.

I sourced the correct oil and topped it off and its all good now, just wanted to see if this is common or a cause for concern? I'll be down at the local Porsche centre this week so will discuss with them too, it has not gone for its first service yet.

cheers

You are lucky.
My Macan Turbo (MY17, 11000 km) consumes one liter of oil every 6/7000 km.
My usage is about 50% in the city, 50% extra urban.

I've had my macan turbo 2 years and with a lot of city driving it's one bottle every 3k miles. I don't understand why but it seems to be common

With 7,500 mi. (12K km) intervals between changes, our level indicator doesn't change.

How many kilometers in the city? How much time queuing in traffic?

Probably, it depends on the time in which the engine is running.
To cover 10 km, in Milan it takes one hour.

It's normal for engines to consume some oil. It used to be small enough that my annual filter and flush replaced what was lost. My Macan just consumes more than I was used to, and I have to add some every 5-6,000 miles. But that's still within the realm of "normal".

I wouldn't be concerned about this issue yet.

Thanks for the responses, glad I am not the only one!

It is at its first 10k kms since new, so I'm sure it may improve if anything? I asked friends with the 3.0L motor and no such complaints.

I'll keep an eye on it and report back in the near future to divulge my findings as it seems we are on par with oil consumption.

Ah Winston Salem, I have spent some time there some years back, pretty part of the world and some real good bbq joints.

Thanks for the kind words. Yes, close to the mountains and just 4 hours to the ocean. BBQ is my favorite "Food Group"! Little Richard's on Country Club Road is the best. (salivating as I write this!)

For many years I have tried to remember the name of that place, and you've just reminded me! That was my first encounter with REAL NC BBQ! I remembered from the Eat Mo Pig slogan!

So thank you!

Also on topic, I spoke to my service advisor today, he said that this is kind of normal for the turbo and if I'm ever low just drop in and they'll top it off for me, no problems.

Now I am aware of it, I know to keep an eye on it, if anything changes then we have something to talk about.

Cheers

It is true, it is normal for the turbo, but why?
No one could explain it to me.

Could it be that one's right foot might have a bearing on it?
