Max Tongue weight - 96 kg = 211 lbs (if you only put 211 lbs on the tongue with a 5k lb trailer you're going to have some serious stability issues!)

Where's Lewis when we need him? He should be able to explain this for us. (sorry, a little P!g Pen humor).
I know that in EU they use a different trailer balancing act so to speak - affects tongue load. In addition that tongue displayed is electrically moveable. So, maybe because of the tongue design it can handle pulling the load, but not the weight.

Not sure anybody will be able to figure out what is going on with tow ratings on this car. Porsche seems to be the most confused about it.

Has any of this been settled?
I am curious for all the same reasons stated above.

I was told by a dealer that PDK is what holds the numbers down. Evidently the multi-clutch system is too complex to deal with the loads.

This is bad news.
I was hoping to tow my GT3/GT4 on an open trailer. At 5200lbs I had no worries, but at the new lower weight it's going to be maxing everything out. Which I prefer not to do.

I was excited about my Macan GTS order but this may change my plans.

Dealer also told me it was the PDK. This is the reason they have not moved to the PDK in the Cayenne.

I was actually a bit annoyed that the factory option to add a hitch is $650, but the new car I found did not have it and dealer cost for 2k to add aftermarket.

Has anyone had real life experience towing? I'm considering towing my SP2 car and Trailex. Thank you.

I'm considering a Macan and would like to know as well. My current Touareg TDI is a fantastic tow rig but the Macan is such a sweet ride that it's taunting me. I want to be sure I am not risking my 991S on the back of a trailer, though. And I would likely rent a U Haul for my track day jaunts. So no fancy rig for me.

After I posted I found a bunch of information using the search. Looks like most people are happy with relatively short tows, keeping weight reasonable, and not driving like a lunatic.

one of the guys we track with has pulled his z06 on a featherlite with a macan. I'm guessing it's right at the limit but loaded right with brakes he said it pulled and stopped well.
