Just received a memo from PCNA...
Macan - Colors/Options may not be available at market launch
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Due to supplier issues, we have been notified by PAG that certain options, exterior, and interior colors will not be available at launch. The affected options and colors are:

Roof Rails - 3S1 / 3S5 or 5W1 / 5W4
Side window trims in high gloss black - QJ4

Interior colors - Black/Garnett Red (V0) and Espresso (VR)
Exterior Colors - Aurum Gold Metallic (U8) and Palladium Metallic (4T)

All affected launch cars have been changed by removing the unavailable option or changing the unavailable color (interior or exterior) to black.
...You may edit these launch Macan orders until close of business Wednesday, Feb 5th.

So, if you have an order for a Macan, please contact your dealer ASAP--like TODAY or tomorrow!

Thanks for posting this, what a screw-up. Do you know when will they be available?Is this affecting just the launch vehicles or even further in Block 2?

Between this and not having the option to order Sapphire Blue I am seriously considering waiting few months now.

It looks like it is ONLY for the Launch vehicles (currently Dealer ETA 5/16/14). My second shipment (Dealer ETA 6/27/14) is Palladium Metallic with Silver Roof Rails (among other things)... so is just related to immediate supply on the launch cars.

FYI, our dealership has three Launch vehicles (two S, one Turbo), all of which are available, as well as this Palladium for June delivery (still changeable, as well as my August allocation).

Contacted my dealer and he confirmed that only launch vehicles affected. He told me my order will not be affected.

What, if anything, is special about the launch vehicles? Are they loaded with anything extra to mark the Macan launch? If not, then why are they called launch vehicles?

I'm really interested in the Palladium Metallic color, but not sure what it looks like in person. The various photos of it all look different. Is it a beige/tan color, or more of a taupe/champagne color (mix of beige and grey).

I'd love it, if it actually looked like this:

We just received some Macan color samples from Porsche yesterday. I took some pics of Palladium alongside other well-known P colors for comparison. Wanted to take them in different light, including direct sunlight, indirect sunlight, cloudlight, shadow... Hope this helps!

Here's a collage of about 15 pics of Palladium Metallic. You can see the incredible variety of colors based on the angle and lighting. All pictures were taken with my Nikon D5100, set to Standard exposure (not Vivid/Landscape), with manual aperture and shutter based on lighting.




Common P colors, with sun in front (top) and behind (bottom).




Different degrees of sunlight (note the shadows). Use Guards Red as a reference; I feel the third palette is most accurate.
