Question Macan: Post Your preliminary build spec...

(when you create the vehicle online, you can then click to print/view optional equipment... then copy and paste (and slightly clean it up) to post below for others to see.. (or attach the spec from porsche if you know how). if you have any options that you want to explain, feel free to in the space below your spec.

my current spec is attached below, my questions are:

PDLS (whats diff?)
PDLS plus (whats diff from above)?

Roof Rails for $380 (worth it? ugly?)

thermal and noise insulating glass (comes on all windows or just front and rear?) upsides/downsides?

anyone choosing LCA/LKA? seems cheap but in such a small car is it neccesary?

sunblinds, says "behind rear seats"... so this is not for the rear passenger windows as with cayenne?

It's funny as I'm new to the "brand new" Porsche world, but I'll more than likely be getting a new Macan next year and have already researched everything you've asked...

They all have xenon, but plds swivels the light when turning, and also illuminates an actual additional corning light when turning, and plds + has the swivel feature plus it adjusts the high beam pattern so as not to disturb oncoming traffic, and automatically adjust the lights from high beam to low beam

I'm not getting roof rails as they're merely aesthetic in my opinion, and the car looks cleaner without them (even if they are usable, I would NEVER tie anything on top of my Macan roof!)

Good question about the glass; that's the one I'm not sure on. My assumption would be all glass aside from the windshield. I know the Macan comes standard with rear tinted or privacy glass, and that's all I'll need

I don't think LCA/LKA is necessary, because as you say, it's just too small of a car to warrant, however the blindspots on this thing could be wicked too, with those small rear quarter windows (parking sensors and a back-up camera are a different story though; definitely necessary!)

The rear sunblinds are located in the rear passenger doors and slide upward (identical to BMW's blinds). Very poorly worded by Porsche in their description...

Hope this helps!

I'll play, though I'm not putting in an order until I'm able to test drive.

Macan Turbo $72,300
White $0
Leather Package in Black $0
Panoramic Roof System $1,670
Exterior Package in Black (High-Gloss) $230
ParkAssist (Front and Rear) incl. Reversing Camera $1,460
Porsche Entry & Drive $810
Air Suspension incl. Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) $1,385
Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) $0
20" Macan SportDesign Wheels $1,260
Wheel Center Caps with Full-Color Porsche Crest $185
Seat Ventilation (Front) $660
Seat Heating (Front and Rear) $525
Adaptive Sport Seats (18-way) incl. Memory Package $0
Interior Aluminum Gear Selector in Aluminum $645
Audio and Communications Online Services $210
Total Price* $82,535

A few things I'm thinking about...
- 19" Design or 20" Sport Design wheels? I have 19s now on my Cayenne, but like the look of the 20s.
- Online services, for those to have it, is it worth it?
- Auto dimming mirrors, is this needed? Pretty sure I have them now, does it make that much of a difference without? I'm thinking no...
- PDLS+, I have PDLS now and think it's a cool feature, but will I miss it?
- LCA. Don't have this now, don't think it's necessary by any means, but it's an inexpensive option.
- Full leather, is this worth it going with a Black int?

All thoughts are welcome!

Thanks, I was wondering what the PLDS was. My current car has the equivalent feature and I must say that I love it when I drive down a winding road at night. The lights "peek" around the bend as you steer. I didn't think I would notice that much but now that I have it I want to always have it. I'm not sure about the auto-hi/lo beams though; it might be another case of "I don't know what I'm missing."

I also have acoustic glass, which I really appreciate and if I could also have thermal glass i would get it.

Blind spot detection is another feature that I now can't live without. It's funny how easily one gets used to a certain level of nicety.

Saddle brown interior

Two tone saddle brown/luxor beige interior

Two tone agate grey/pebble grey interior

Two tone black/saddle brown interior (not 100% sure about this one)

There will also come a lot of additional interior (leather) as well as exterior (painted roofspoiler) options, like on the Cayenne.

Most options will come available somewhere around march (week 10-2014)

I don't think Saddle Brown interior is offered in the US, unfortunately.

True saddle brown is a gorgeous color.

So if these options are available from march 2014, i think they will appear in Configurator a little bit earlier, maybe in february what do you think?
