Couldnt agree more .... but we have collectively "taught" the euro wagon makers that we wont buy them ... I think that the Macan is probably the best alternative you will find ...

A basic family car here is 30k plus.

We have a GST of 10%, plus a luxury car tax of 33% on amounts over 57k. My state charge 3.5% duty for a six cylinder car. Ie lots of tax.

Why Leipzig vs Zuffenhausen delivery? - you'll miss the factory tour and the museum!

you are most welcome; I have never done Leipzig ED but I have done Zuffenhausen and both the tour and the museum (plus lunch at Christophorus) are a must-do IMO...

Once the metallic sapphire blue becomes available I will be ordering a similar spec to yours for Zuffenhausen ED also!

In Leipzig, you also get a factory tour and the oppertunity to drive your car on the track and although there's not a real museum like in Zuffenhausen, there are still some nice cars to see. I think both locations are worth visiting. The Macan is produced in Leipzig...

but if you had to pick one location to take delivery? Leipzig or Zuffenhausen?

personally I'd prefer Zuffenhausen, since its the 911 line you get to tour and the museum ROCKS ... but I suppose the chance to lap the test circuit (for how long and what format?) would be attractive!

For me of course Zuffenhausen, since it is only a two and half hour drive from where I live

Doing some laps on the testtrack would be nice too. I have no idea how many laps or how long you're allowed to use the track. I only visited Leipzig once, but unfortunately not for taking delivery

I would choose Zuffenhausen also, and its only around 15hrs travel time!

Leipzig would be "worth it" if the track access were significant (like a PSDS course) but I am thinking that taking your new Porsche and instantly flogging it around the track is probably not what Porsche recommends as "breaking in" period!
