Default 21” wheels on Macan S??

They look better than 20” but are they worth loosing the comfortable ride? I am thinking to put air suspension with 21” wheels to compensate and get better comfortable ride experience when needed.
Looking for suggestions around this, should I save money and go with 20” or put 21” RS spyder?

I had no choice with ours. My wife wanted the big wheels because they 'looked better'. So we ended up with the 21" RS Spyders. To be honest, the ride is still excellent and we dont have air suspension. Its composed, handles well and I dont feel that I am losing out on any comfort for having the bigger wheels. I am sure there is some drop in quality, but overall I am not good enough to notice the difference.

But, said it before though - came from a C63S AMG that had the stiffest suspension! Anything would be better than that. Its a revelation in comparison and better than a previous 2011 Cayenne S that we had.

Thanks, seem like it is not too bad if not good. And like you said they do look good.

One thing that I would mention about the Spyders though - we got the wheel and tire insurance / warranty thing from the dealer. No offense to the dealer or the company behind it, but I wouldnt buy it again. The fear is that each wheel is stupidly expensive and the tires are far from 'reasonable', and since my wife has a nasty habit of damaging wheels, I thought it would be a good idea. The AMG was very easy to scrape the wheels and hence seemed like a good idea. The Macan on the other hand, especially with SurroundView which is excellent, it means that its much less likely. And the wheel design does seem to sit in sufficiently on the tires too, so damaging them isnt as easy. I wouldnt go for that insurance / warranty package again.

Not saying that you cant damage the wheels, but its been over 2 years now and not even a sniff of damage. Someone thought about those wheels!

excellent advise, I was thinking about that as well but then I calculated the price and figured that I will have to use that service atleast twice to get a benefit out of it which is very unlikely like you said.
I am also thinking to get paint protection film coating and ceramic - any experience with those?

I didnt go for the PPF or ceramic coating. Maybe should have, but I wanted to just use the car and not worry too much about dings and paint chips, yeah I know, weird way of approaching this. We dont do huge mileage and currently after just over 2 years, we are only at 18k miles! What I did learn from the Cayenne that I had was that PPF can go bad after a number of years and a very particular type of bird and fruit they eat will absolutely rot through the plastic! I got the Cayenne second hand and it already had the PPF on it, but didnt figure out what bird it was, but had to take it off as it looked terrible. It did its job, but we know a great body shop here and I cant help thinking that it might just be easier without the PPF.

Others swear by PPF though. A friend bought a super expensive HD CVO motorcycle and in less than 2000 miles its pitted and terrible! He wishes he had taken the option of PPF at the time. I would note that Porsche paint is good though. Its not perfect or the best, but its good and it should stand up well.

I think PPF on front make sense if it is reasonable in cost. Ceramic is worthwhile as it also makes the paint look even better i think.
