Default Can Electrical steering system leak grease?

Hi all

Brought my Macan for service and the technician claims that my "steering rack is leaking grease" and therefore needs to be replaced.
Kinda strange given that this is an ELECTRICAL steering system. I know that hydraulic system could leak but does ELECTRIC steering rack has smth that could leak?
Did I misunderstood the mechanic - but that's EXACTLY what he said "steering rack is leaking grease".

Does it make sense to anybody?
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

The rubber bellows at each end can leak some grease, if they tear.
