Default Seatbelt Chime (BONG BONG BONG)

Hope someone has a solution to this major annoyance!

I bought a 2021 GTS last week. I dropped my kids off at school. When the older one exits the car from the front passenger seat, there is no issue. When my little one exits from the back seat, the seatbelt chime rings non-stop.....until I put the Macan in park and then back in drive. School drop offs happen fast, no time to put it in park until I get back on the street and get to a red light, which could be a mile up the road. Holy crap this is annoying. How do I stop this nonsense?

Wow, the Nanny features are unexpected. Ex has tripple honk from her Denali. Perhaps you'll need to disconnect a sensor.

I've had this exact problem since new delivery in March. No solution yet except what you did. I need to ask the service advisor when she has time.

On the 95B.2, you can turn these gongs off with the
Launch x431 Launch x431

$800 and worth it.

Edit: although I personally prefer the vehicle to be in Park anyway, when people are exiting or entering it.

My buddy owns an Indy shop and said he has that tool. Where do I go in the menu to turn off the chimes?

Thanks for the help!

See this spreadsheet (not mine, maintained by some people on the Macan Forum.) Lots of options to play with.

Yeah, same issue - drop someone off (back seat) and drive off, cue the damn bong bong thing for 2-3 minutes afterwards. So annoying. Though I believe that you can put it in park, turn it off and then restart again and it doesnt do that. That is what my dealer recommended. Basically to save gas.... yeah, screw that in 100 degree heat!

I'm not paying $800 for a gizmo to use with a DIY spreadsheet on a problem that is Porsche's. And not doing the fandango the dealer recommends with the put in park etc.

Edit: don't mind the put in park step in the fandango, as I do that anyway for anyone entering or exiting. It's the restart that's a PITA.

Will get it looked at by the dealer when I take it in for the 10K oil change. If the $800 gizmo can do it, so should PIWIS even better.

I doubt the dealer will do it. I'm sure they'll claim "safety issue" because you have to turn off the warning chimes and change the speed threshold.

I would not buy the device either. Fortunately, I have a friend who owns and indi shop and he has the $800 gizmo.

Make a friend at an indi shop.

My 2021 GTS does this as well. Annoying, but I'm also not paying $800 to buy a device I'll probably use incorrectly and screw up my car. This is obviously a sensor problem that I will have dealer address at the first service. I can wait since I rarely have anyone in the back seat anyway. Add it to the list.

Sorry, are the items shown on this screen things you can tap on to change the settings? Never having used this device (never heard of it before reading this thread) I'm not sure what I'm looking at. If these are options that can be tapped on to change settings, which one do you tap on and what do you set it to?

TIA

In the meantime, I'm going to beg my dealership to program the chimes away for me.
