Certified Warranty - Worthless?

Just had a spoiler drive motor assembly and brake line replaced on my '14 911 50th Anniversary under CPO. About $2800 total. I've probably had about $7000 of warranty coverage on my CPO. Totally worth it for me.

Agree. Looking back at my 2011 Cayenne Turbo ownership, it certainly paid for itself and then some...to the tune of about $15k of warranty work in a 2 year period. CPO all the way!

I call BS on this. “Wear” items are listed in the manual- ie brakes, clutch, etc with intervals listed when to check and replace. I would press the dealer on this and ask where wheel bearing is listed under a maintenance item and what the normal expected interval is. Also, are they suggesting that a wheel bearing wouldn’t be covered under the original warranty?

I checked the Porsche CPO warranty documentation and wheel bearings are not mentioned in it as an
excluded item. It does make note of 'normal wear and tear' items.
Clearly a wheel bearing failing at a mere 30K miles is NOT showing NORMAL wear and tear.
I would recommend escalating the issue at your Porsche dealership. If you can get no satisfaction there, try
another dealership or go to PCNA directly.
Tell your dealership you've already publicized their behavior in this instance in an online forum, so they will be
aware they're getting 'free advertising'.

I purchased a 2013 991 C2S and just weeks after I bought it I could hear a winding noise at speed. Needless to say, it was a spent wheel bearing. My Porsche CPO covered the entire bearing repair . I requested a "full inspection be preformed and to my surprise, they replace a faulty driver's side window washer nozzle as well as both rear window motors.

Surprised the wheel bearing wasn't covered. I wonder if some dealers try to go to bat more than others when issues come up. I just took my turbo S coupe in because the back up camera had quit working. Figured it was something simple but they ended up having to change some wiring looms, and the the whole PCM unit as it wasn't consistently communicating with the camera. I bought it last summer in Dallas and it was CPO'ed (2014 with 17K miles). It was totally covered and I'd hate to think what that would have cost out of pocket! Porsche Chandler in Chandler, AZ.
