2019 Macan S Delayed until Nov 2019?
We were about to place an order for a 2019 Macan S today, and heard that Porsche has delayed the availability due to "engine issues" (Supply? Certification? Other? No details...). Instead of being able to order now and get the car in June, we were told that the earliest would be November 2019...which might as well be a 2020 model! Very disappointing...anyone heard any further news on this?

We are planning on ordering a 2019 Macan S tomorrow. Did the dealer provide any documentation supporting this information? Ours told us Friday afternoon if we ordered this week that we should expect a June delivery, perhaps they were unaware of this information, or perhaps your dealer wants to sell you something in their current inventory rather than accept a 2019 build order? Ours told us they had no issues ordering an S for us, our dealer is a fairly large dealer in Delaware. Any other information would be helpful, I will post what we find out tomorrow!

2019 Macan S delay
I got the same information from two different dealers, one in Atlanta and one in Seattle, both said the same thing. Earliest delivery at this point is November and they expect further details next week, no explanation given as to whether this is an engine availability or certification EPA issue.

Just ordered mine on Thursday night. If this affects Canada also, I’ll Need to cancel my order because my current lease is up in June.

This delay actually might be legit.....and not just for Porsche and the new facelifted Macan. I was reading an article today from Motortrend talking about how several makes/models, domestic and import, are likely to be delayed as a result of the recent government shutdown. The 2019 Porsche Macan was one specifically mentioned and shown in the article.
Here’s a brief blurb from the article that helps explain why.....
”Before a new (or significantly re-engineered) car can go on sale, it must be certified by the federal government. Under the Clean Air Act it is the responsibility of the Environmental Protection Agency. The National Vehicle and Fuel Emissions Laboratory in Ann Arbor does the verification. But the lab is among the agencies not being funded during the month-long shutdown.“

Our SA cited that as the reason for the delay in the 2019 Macan S units arriving in the US, he indicated the base models should start arriving in April and the S models in June. No mention of November......but I will follow up with him tomorrow. He indicated that the base models already have the EPA certifications but that the S models, because of their new MY powerplants did not. Funny, I have ben doing some research today online and it appears that the manufacturers do their own testing and the EPA labs typically review and approve the results. Strange how the shutdown could cause exponential delays in these approvals , from a couple of months to 6 or 7 moths if this holds true. If so i believe it would be a very serious issue for Porsche with the popularity of the Macan but it may be out of their control.

Hello
Dealer Employees received notice through the PCNA Portal Message Board that the “on sale date” for the Macan S has been rescheduled until November 2019.
Check with your salesperson for confirmation of this new timing announcement.

So by "On Sale" date does that mean dealers cannot order the Macan S models until November or that they won't be arriving in the US until November, please?

They can be ordered by the dealers however will not be able to deliver to customers until the November timeframe is how I understand it.

Talked to my salesman today and he said he heard Friday about the potential delay until November however nothing official through Porsche channels. He is making some phone calls. We have a March build with a July Euro delivery.

One dealership I know confirmed November for new-style Macan S deliveries in US -- at least in the northeast. But 2019 base Macans are still expected to start arriving in April/May (this spring).
