Dealer Loaner S
Never considered a Macan before but was at the dealer the other day with my wife and she really liked the size and feel of the Macan.
They have a few 2018 S remaining, one of which is a dealer loaner with 8k miles that has been available for sale for a little over a month now.
What's a reasonable % off of MSRP to expect? Right now they are pricing it at 14% below.
Thanks in advance.

I am picking up a 2017 Macan Base loaner this week, 1.7 k miles, CPO till July 30, 2024, MSRP $59,000.
My buy price is $43,000. This is approximately 27.5% discount....I am happy!
Good luck with purchase, hope it works out for you.

I don't know - a dealer loaner is like 1 step above buying a rental car with all the "I wonder what this thing will do" drivers. You know it has good maintenance history, but you also pretty much know how it has been driven for those 8,000 miles too. People don't treat their personal cats the same way they do loaners or rentals.

I would price it like a used car. The 27% that GT#FZS got seems right in the ballpark. For 14% I would rather have a brand new one. I you buy it at the 14 %, ask them how much they would buy it back from you for after a short time.

If I were in your position I'd look for something brand new in the 15% off range vs a used car that has surely lived a tough life... I know how I drive loaners and I'm sure others do the same.

Thanks for the advice guys and gals.
Good to hear there's a lot more room to go on price... Looks like there's decent 2018 inventory left for the S models. So 27%ish off msrp seems going rate for 2018 CPOs?
I'll let you know how it goes.
Like I said, just getting up to speed on the Macan. All my attention had been focused on 997s and 991s for myself up to this point.

Hi Irwin, keep in mind my deal was for a 2017 Base, dealer exec car, not a service loaner.
S models typically do not go into loaner service, but there be a few, may also be exec cars.
From my recent search, 2018 Base loaners, CPO were priced at 47-52K for cars with 3-8k miles, and 6-9 months warranty used, and MSRP in the 58-60k MSRP.
I believe a great deal would be 2018 Base, MSRP $58-60k, less than 5 K miles, less than 9 months warranty used, sell price of $45K.
That is 20-25% off MSRP, 63 months, 95 k miles CPO warranty.
I checked my deal again, MSRP $58k, sell price was $42.8k for a 26.2% discount.
Miles at delivery, 1780, Factory/CPO Warranty through July 30, 2024.
Hope this helps, good luck with the search.

The sales agent did say loaner and not dealer executive car. He tried trying us most of their client base is older so it's been driven gently.... Right.... But I can have him double check to be sure. 9k for 7ish months of loaner service does seem high.
Either way, theres a right price for everything. Look like I have some room to negotiate.
Thanks everyone

Hey all, just wanted to close this out. My wife spent some more time driving the S and decided that it wasn't for her.
Thanks for all the feedback and hopefully this thread can help someone else in their process.

Great drive these Macan's!
I prefer my Cayenne for winter driving as it really is unstoppable even in the deepest snow and instills huge confidence
in bad weather. However as an all around vehicle that is well sized for most any requirement and really really fun to drive, the Macan S is a fantastic
choice for a family car.
Good luck with decision!
