Default Drive 50,000 miles a year

Bought a certified used 2015 Macan Turbo with 48,000 miles. Will likely have 150,000 miles in 2 years.

Traded a 2017 4 cylinder Macan. 54,000 miles in a year with no problems.

400 horsepower is more entertaining than 252. 😊

Looking forward to being the Macan Turbo owner with the most miles!!

Anyone had any issues as the miles have accrued? Thank you in advance.

Dats lots of milez catfightman!

That’s roughly 1000 miles per week and one Hell of a commute.

I’ll be looking forward to any ‘quarterly reports’ you have.

I really couldn’t say...in the 6 months I’ve had my Macan GTS I’ve put a whole 3k miles on it!

Congrats on the new Turbo! Let us know how it goes as you rack up the miles. Enjoy it!

I put 10,000 miles on my Macan S over the summer (7k with a roundtrip to Rennsport from MD). Used one quart of oil. Now at 40k w no problems.

I bought my Macan in September after enjoying over 180000 miles in my 2012 Cayenne S.
I averaged about 30000 per year on the Cayenne and it gave me very little problems but it wasn't perfect.
Here's what I consumed in 6 years::
5 sets of tires.(to be expected)
Fortunately my miles were mostly highway so I only needed to change brake pads and rotors once.
1 ignition sensor. It wouldn't start one morning so my dealer had to come with a flatbed truck and get it.
3 transfer cases (including the original) #2 cost $4000 because it was just out of warranty. (#3 was covered by warranty on #2)
1 driver's-side window switch because the silver trim on the original started to de-laminate.

Overall, I was very satisfied with the Cayenne and expect to put many happy miles on my Macan!

LUV the white! Thank you for the detail about your Cayenne S. Impressive. Will be interesting (for both of us?) to see if our Macan Turbo's roll up the miles just as (relatively) dependably.

What were the primary reasons you sized down from the Cayenne to the Macan?

I'll play! (since I did the same....958 CTT to Macan GTS)

Pretty simple....my wife and I are empty nesters now and after having a Macan S and a Macan GTS as service loaners for extended periods when I had my CTT, I realized I just didn't need that much vehicle anymore. I still wanted some utility, and I really enjoyed the tidier package and the increased driving dynamics of the Macan versus the Cayenne, so the Macan was a great selection in my case (the PDK was a factor too, just wonderful!) Additionally my Cayenne had just crossed the 70k mile mark so I was looking to get something else soon anyway. I do miss the V8 TT torque on occasion, but I'd still do it all over again.

I considered both the Turbo and GTS Macan models, but in the end I preferred the driving dynamics of the GTS and my dealer had one in stock uniquely equipped as I would have ordered one.

Is the transfer case a known problem in AWD Porsches? Three transfer cases in such a short time sounds really bizarre! (and bad!)
Did you do a lot of off-road driving, or other extreme driving that would put stress on the transfer case?

Not sure if the TCs on all AWD Porsches are problematic (I don't think so?), but they certainly are on the 958 gen Cayennes (2011-2018). My 2011 CTT had 2 additional ones installed in 70k miles.

Here, have a read (LONG!), it'll tell you all you need to know...... https://rennlist.com/forums/cayenne-...sfer-case.html

Macans can have an issue with the transfer case, but I think it's a one time thing (I thought it only affected older macans but apparently it sometimes can affect newer models as well). Porsche replaced the transfer cases in question, but many owners found that changing the fluid resolved any issues.

I love when people drive their cars!

I had a CTT that I put 40K a year on. Other then a couple wear items, the thing was bullet proof. My 17 PTT, I put 30K on it this year...

Wow that's a lot of miles! Have you thought about just getting a 911? Gets around 30mpg hwy vs. 23mpg. Save you about 500 gallons of gas a year. Unless of course you need to haul a lot of stuff. Well, not even a lot as not much fits in the 911, ha!

I had a great experience with the Cayenne but I wanted something more sporty. As you can see from the picture, my wife drives a GLS450 so we have a tow and haul vehicle. The Macan PP has less room for passengers and stuff but is a bit better balance between an SUV and a sports car. The PDK is much more responsive than the Tiptronic.
