Lowering springs for my wife’s new Macan!(photos added)
Hi everybody, I made the mistake to borrow the loaner (Macan) to my wife when I did the service of my GT4 ...She had a Lexus RX 350 f sport before, and I made thetrade for a CPO 2017 Base model with some optionals like 21” wheel, moonroof, exhaust etc. I love the car but would like to lower it, so what do you recomend? H&R springs? KW Heigh adjustable springs?
If you used them I would appreciate your comments and photos!

My new to me Macan S came with H&R springs installed but if it didn't I would have added them myself. Ride height is near perfect and ride quality is just fine, definitely recommended. See first pic on the summer wheels and second in winter mode to give you an idea of what it looks like.

How much do they lower the car by? And what model H & R spring? I have 2016 Turbo w PASM, and Non Air suspension. I want to lower my Turbo the height of a GTS.
You want 28788-1. They should lower the vehicle by approximately 1.5 inches. Be sure to have the installer torque down all suspension fasteners only while the full weight of the vehicle is on the suspension.
Depends on where you are located but your best option is to find an independent mechanic that specializes in Porsche to handle the spring install. There are plenty of shops that specialize in modifications so just find one that is well reviewed or ideally get a recommendation from someone on Rennlist or Macan Forum in your area.
I was just quoted $1,500 to install lowering springs. The guys says 15hrs of labor. Does that sound right???
Not really, seems high particularly on the hours. Not sure what is involved in installing Macan springs but from searching around appears to be 6-8 hours + alignment depending on the shop. I would say $1k all in including the alignment is probably fair but likely varies by shop/location.
I just order H&R springs, about the price a shop where I installed springs to my daily mercedes quote to me $1,300 around 12 hours of labor bit they want to see to be sure (didn’t feel confidence) and the motorsport division of a dealer 8 hours of work $1,400. Both prices with the alignment
Having my lowering springs installed at California Wheels in San Jose CA for $600 plus $150 for the alignment. This is a great wheel and accessories shop in the Bay area that does lots of exotics and high end cars. Every shop I called in the Sacramento area wanted 1000-1200 bucks. Will post pics next week when its done.
What about coil-overs? For years I put Bilstein sport and H&R sport springs on my cars. Then I installed
a set of Bilstein coil-overs on my last (before Macan) car.

Great handling, lower (adjustable ride height) and excellent ride characteristics. You lose the harshness
of the setup noted at the top and retain all of the handling improvements. The only downside is they do
cost a bit more than the sport struts/shocks & sport springs setup.
IIRC, it cost me ~$2800 parts & labor - which included an alignment, since the car was lowered as a result
of the install.
