Default Macan oil temperature -- 2018 base model

We just purchased a new base model Macan. I was wondering what the normal operating oil temperature should be. Our seems to run between 217 and 223F when fully warmed up in city driving. Is this normal? What is the optimum operating temperature? Our water temp plateaus at 200F and stays put.

Thanks for any information!

This is what my 2017 base model operates at.
Water temp is at 200 degrees all the time. Oil temp can be at 223 degrees or less depending on driving type and ambient air temperature.

OK, Thanks much! On the Highway it seems to run a bit cooler at 213 to 217F. Do you notice a difference in "sport mode"? I read on a different forum that the oil temperature in sport mode is cooler, but I haven't noticed that.

I don't use "sport mode" much, but I'll keep an eye on the gauge the next time I take the car out.

When running nice and warmed up our Macan turbo sometimes runs up into the 220's in normal mode, and settles around 205-208 in Sport mode in similar conditions. The theory goes that normal mode is trying to save a little fuel by running the oil hotter and thinner. I've also heard that the water temp is a lie and gives you the same reading as long as it's within normal operating temperature.

This occurred on my Cayenne Turbo as well as my Macan GTS.....in Sport mode, oil temps run about 10 degrees cooler on average (sometimes a little more or less depending on conditions).

Let me tell you what those oil temperatures hit on my Ducati! 250 degrees at a red light unless I physically trigger the fan. You folks don't even have to worry with the Porsche numbers.
