Default Macan with 1UP Bike Rack- nice fit

1-UP makes probably the nicest bike racks out there. I just got one to fit the 2" factory hitch receiver on my 2015. When tightened down with the supplied security hex, it's extremely secure and takes under a minute to install. I got the single (since I'll be using it solo 75% of the time), but the additional space can also be added very easily for my my daughter comes along. When folded up, the gate still opens with plenty of clearance, but you do lose more of your rear view camera field of view- but the rack is very easy to remove.

The rack is all Aluminum extrusions and steel- so it has a different look than the Yakimas/Thules/Kuats, which use a lot more plastic moldings and have a bit more of a "designed" look. I prefer the aesthetic of 1UP though...

I have had my 1UP a lot longer than my Macan and I agree it is the best rack!

The only way to go for a hitch rack. I went with anodized black for my 1 Ups.

Timely post. I have a tailgate pad for my pickup to carry my bike, but no way to carry it on the Macan. I like the single bike set up and simplicity of the 1UP rack with the ability to add-on if necessary. While reading up on the 1UP rack, I learned that the inventor and patent holder of the 1UP rack has left the company and formed his own - Quik-Rack. His patent has has since expired and 1UP is selling the original design. The new Quik-Rack Mach 2 has some design changes and is cheaper with freight included in the price of $269. Anodized black is also available at no additional cost. However, apparently Quik Rack is still in process of sourcing parts from suppliers and availability is not expected until Spring 2019 - according to the Quik Rack website.

Not wanting to wait, I ordered an anodized black 1UP rack that I can use with the Macan and the truck. I'm going to put it to use over the Labor Day weekend when we head up to Sun Valley, ID.

Yeah, I was reading about all that, and decided to go with the one that's available now. Only regret is not getting the black one.

The rack was delivered just in time for a road trip over Labor Day weekend. Installation was simple and the bike is on and off in seconds. Holds the bike securely in place. I'm happy I spent the extra 50 for black.

Finally remembered to take some photos of the bikes on the 1UP rack.
