Default paint to sample

anybody order a paint to sample macan? i'm debating if its worth the wait,.....i tend to like unique cars.
Wraps seem to be all the rage now and can be had much cheaper.
this car is for my wife and she is indifferent. which is usually a good thing.

most macan's in my area are either black or white.

In my opinion, if there is a color you absolutely want and have the disposable income for it along with the time, then go on with your bad self. But based on what I've seen on used car listings, don't expect to ever recoup the cost of it on the secondary market if maybe even lose money. Only person who can ever make the decision as to whether or not is worth it is you. How different do you want to be? Pretty much every luxury car in my area is either black or silver but all of my cars are blue. Sapphire Blue looks fantastic and so does Carmine Red. Carrera White and Volcano Grey look great too.

I have seen 4 or 5 PTS Macan S's. Couple of Signal Green, 1 Mexico blue and 1 Lava Orange. Dont hold me to the Mexico Blue it may have been one of the other shades close to it.

As much as I like some of the PTS colors, I can't imagine putting $6K towards paint color for any car. I'd rather spend that $$$ on other aspects of my build. It's all a matter of priorities & I know that PTS is a draw to some, but it would be a low priority in my budgeting & decision-making. Besides, I can't see the outside of the car while I'm driving it, so I want to spend money on the features I'd enjoy more while I'm in it.

Not sure if you seen the latest PTS pricing for the GT3, multiple of that ($13K) and probably half the coverage area LOL Most ppl that have been able to get an allocation with a PTS option have opted for it. Granted, diff vehicle (and depreciation curve), but just saying.

To me if it is indeed a color would 'die for' and plan on keeping the car for a while, depreciating the 6K over that time span (and likely recoup some part of that upon sale given exclusivity) justifies it. Problem is the weight time, especially now with a PTS stop in effect, you'd be looking at Q4 of 2018 most likely.

I would only do it on a car and spec that I absolutely loved. I can say that many times I've sold a car because I've tired of the color so I'd look at PTS as an emotional investment.

Here is my question to add.
For the paint to sample crowd.
Are you cash down AND paying the premium?
Thus owning, and committing to your PST choice and resale value?
Or leasing and returning?
There is a commitment level in this formula.
I tend to buy, what I can later sell.

^ I have similar questions. Can you even lease a PTS car? I would think the depreciation calculations would be difficult to make. As for re-sale, based on what I've seen, they will take longer to resell but when the right buyer comes along, the asking price is easier to achieve. I can't think of any PTS that would make it extremely undesirable...maybe pink? My understanding is that there are two levels of PTS. One is the choice out of VAG's huge existing color palette and the other is a full custom color selection which is over 5 figures to option.

I think it's pretty awesome still. I'm not one of them, but lots of people love green. Audi sold out their short run of viper green S3s very quickly.
