Default 2015 Macan Turbo - Any known issues I need to be aware of

My wife and I are looking to add a Macan and wanted to check with the group first regarding any known issues I should be aware of when comparing cars.

Right now were looking at some 2015 turbos with around 20K miles. Really like the looks of the GTS, but the pricing is out of range.

Thank you in advance!

My '15 Macan Turbo has been pretty much trouble-free. There were a few shakedown services to address rattles and the like when it was new, but otherwise it's been mechanically quite sound. The only expenses have been the annual service and of course tires.

The HomeLink has been a bit glitchy though. Enough so that I keep an extra remote in the car and I've never had to do that with any other car.

I have a Macan turbo MY 2017 with 17,000 km.
No problem. Only oil consumption is a bit high, about 7,000 km with a liter (50% city streets, 50% extra-urban).

i have 36K miles on mine, we add a quart of oil every 3K miles which is annoying as hell but I'm experiencing the same on my 2017 911.

we had the PDK tranny replaced early on for a leak around 10K miles but its been great ever since.

great car.

Other than the seat sensor and fuel filter flange service bulletins, our 2015 Turbo has been a delight. No oil usage, no rattles, no problems. Goes like a BOH. You're thinking clearly. While the GTS is a great vehicle, the 2015 Turbo will be a bargain and with more power.

Thank you all for the feedback. Exactly what I was hoping to hear.
Will post an update once we find the right car.

I have been changing oil every 7,500 mi. and have yet to add oil in between. The drop on the gauge has been negligible, perhaps 1/4 qt. at most.

I am shopping as well.
What depreciation are you finding on a used 3 year old car?
I know that people go crazy with options.
I just want a peasant package Turbo.
Want? Need? Actually willing to pay for?

2016 Macan Turbo here, purchased new on 1/31/16. Needed a new front drive shaft & transfer case in October 2016 at ~4700 miles. No problems at all since replacement. You may want to check the MacanForum.com - there's plenty of good discussion there about issues & non-issues. RL is great, but it's not very Macan-oriented.

Thank you all for the responses. We just returned from looking at a 2015 turbo and have one more to look at.

One has the air suspension and one doesn't. What are the thoughts on the air suspension? We have it on our cayenne turbo and like it.

I'm a big fan of the air suspension; I have it on mine. It's not a disaster if you don't have it but I'm glad I do. I drove a couple demo models before finalizing my build and I'm glad I included it as an option. If you don't live in an area with bad roads you probably don't need it but it adds a lot of flexibility to the car even if you don't go off-road.

Thanks again all for the information, including the MacanForum.

My search has been within 500 miles of Dallas. I'm seeing the turbos priced between $57K - $63K with my maximum mileage set at 36K. Also interested in GTS, but pricing is out of my range. Most of the cars I've been looking at have between 18K - 33K in miles. Options vary widely and same with pricing. Seems people are trying to figure out the market for resale.
I found one last Friday that we are finalizing the deal on Monday. Will post pics once we get it home.

Update - As part of the purchase the seller (ecarlink.com) put a new set of Pirelli tires on the car. Afterward we had the local Porsche dealer do an oil change, alignment and overall inspection which came back great. The car was sold by the same dealer originally so we also got all of the service records now as well.

We've put close to 500 miles on the car since getting it this week. It ran perfectly during the drive to meet family for Thanksgiving. We couldn't be happier with the purchase.
