stu, question for you or karl.... in the main GT4 threads (road cars) you read a bunch about a lto of the pdk gt4 trans boxes blowing up, issues, some problems. its seems like on the road cars a bit of an issue.
is it the same box? any reported issues with the gt4 CS MR boxes? do they beef them up with stronger internals?

again, im sure they are bullet proof and you loved your CS (non-MR). i just woner why, if the GT4CS MR arent having issues with transmissions, they dont just port that stuff over to the road cars and end the headaches for a lot of those folks.

actually, i test drove a gt4, and now that i think about it, its a manual. is it the manuals that are having the issues on the road-side or the gt4 PDF? i presume all the racing GT4s are pdk?

The racing GT4 Cup is PDK. There was one testing at the track with us yesterday. These cars are crazy fast. I can see why some are going in this direction.

Some GT4's are having issue with their gear box and there is a sticky thread on the matter.

My shop said the PDK in the Clubsports are different than the street PDK gearbox with some beefed up internals.

Hadn't heard about transmission issues on the clubsports.

I know that the manual GT4 street cars where having issues with 2nd or 3rd gear based on when they were produced.

Anyone chime in here on the PDK in the clubsports???

The GT4 CS PDK boxes are very good. Teams have been running them for 24H races and they look superb after 3,000km in a day. My own experience is that you *need* the latest software patch from manthey to fix a slow-shifting issue (both up and down) but once that's sorted you should be issue-free.

Unlike the cup the GT4 box doesn't "store" a downshift for you. It either honors a legit downshift request or ignores one that it thinks will cause an overrev. Most would find that more intuitive...

I just received new downloads from PMNA and I think it was an attempt to solve the issue with the Pirelli DH vs DHA tires. It didn't help and my car still has the ABS light still come on.
