Default My car's history

I'm trying to figure out some of the history on my 997 Cup.

Anyone remember who ran Cups in World Challenge in 2007? My car still has the SCCA Pro Racing ID sticker on the cage. It has #1725 on it. Has anyone ever contacted SCCA to find any info? I'm just curious since the prior owner doesn't really know anything about it.

Thanks

If it was 997 and ran WC in 2007 it is from one of these teams:

Airline Shuttle/Carter/AMI
Cirasport
Global Motorsports Group
K-PAX Racing LLC/Jim Haughey
K-PAX Racing LLC/Jim Haughey
911 Design
TR Racing/Porsche 911 GT-3

The first two may actually be the same car, ran only at Laguna. Any leftover livery on it that may point to which team?

There is no livery still on the car but one clue might be my car is painted black.

You may have already done this, but try some web searches with your vin # - I've found there's a number of websites that have race info stored based on it

After more digging it looks like my car is a former K-PAX Racing LLC/Jim Haughey car. Don't know for certain yet.

It would be interesting is it is the Championship winning car that Pobst drove. We will see.

Anyone know someone at K-Pax Racing?

Call Bob Raub at 3R Racing. They built the 997's for K-Pax.

Were they running 997 Cups in World Challenge in 2007? Or regular 997s?

They are very far from "regular". If you have a K-Pax car, it was very well prepared and maintained while in World Challenge. I used to own one of their '07 997's and it was in excellent condition when I purchased it.

Correct.......our cars were fully upgraded!
-Shorter gears
-Upgraded flywheel and carbon clutch
-4 way shocks
-carbon bodywork
-Upgraded Brembo Monobloc calipers and race pads/rotors
-Upgraded bladed sway bars
-Diffs were modified
-Larger offset wheel package

Tons of fun!!

The list goes on. My car was way too much for me, but I miss it every day. Especially the sound of that exhaust.

I don't know if I still have the VIN. I'll check.
