Default Price check 2004 GT3 Cup engine

I have an opportunity to by a complete rebuilt Cup engine. It was a spare that was not used and has been sitting for 10 years. I am assuming I will need to go thru the engine before it is to be used. It is complete minus flywheel.

What is a fair price?

There is also a 99 Cup engine available with unknown hours.

Thanks

fair price would be about what the '04 rebuild goes for... more if it's from PMNA as those rebuilds cost more.

Rebuild is around 25k if you provide the old engine with some re-usable parts.
This engine is probably worth at least 35-40k

I think I know the engine and seller you are talking about. I attempted to buy it last year but found it impossible to come to reasonable terms with the seller. I was told it was a new spare engine from the factory not rebuilt. as you mention. I would be cautious with an engine that has been sitting for so long.

If it is the same car and engine in Florida I called about last year, both came from Canada I believe. I could try to dig up the race team owner who took care of the car up there. I think he had the engine too if I recall correctly.

I was interested in the Florida car but I wanted some concrete history on it. All the guy could tell was was what he had been told.

No history is better than a "It will be great, believe me" history...
