993 GT2 Evo going up at Mecum in Monterey
Friends have been sharing this link with me all day. I have no affiliation with Mecum and no chance of owning this thing, but I had to share with my fellow racers

Peter Klute of Legendary Motorcars has a 95 GT2 EVO.

On his TV show, they featured his car in one episode, he quickly turned down a $1 M offer

^ So when I saw the listing I thought it was the LMC car primarily because of the seat
Edit: after looking back at the websites looks like the mileage is the same too, so must be the same car. Not sure why the year is listed differently.

I think it is the LMC GT2.
I have been hounding Peter to give me an idea what it is worth as i have been in the market for the last year and the only auction results for a GT2R are 2011 for 500k and 2013 for 500k.
if the one owner, low mile Seinfeld 993 RSR sold for 950k, then the GT2 has a chance to hit $1.5k IMO.
(at the right venue course)
The only thing holding this car back is the lack of racing history. But at least it is a nice virgin.

Man o' man. Woulda shoulda coulda. Had a chance to buy a pristine factory 3-RSR a couple years ago for $450k. Should have mortgaged everything and made the bet.

Oh and yes that's Peter Klute's GT .. I guess he found something suitable to replace it as he said on the show until something comes
along that is as significant or greater it will stick around ...

Klute's car
I didn't think this was Peter Klute's car because his website shows his as a 95 and the auction shows it as a 96. However, look at the screen shot. The site shows it as a 95 but the Google tab shows it as a 96. Wierd!

I had a chance to look at this car Saturday. In typical auction fashion, nobody there really knows anything about the car and details tend to be fudged. It's listed as an "Evo" with 600hp, but that's certainly debatable. It has the evo front bumper, the right side external oil fill, correct Secan intercooler, but its a single plug car. Evo cars were twin plug, so 600hp is probably a bit of a stretch.
Over all it was a very clean car, but the lack of racing history hurts the value a bit.
