WTB 996 GT3r Engine SN- 63Y26028
I am searching for the original motor from my car. Serial number 63Y26028.
Would even consider Crankcase only. Motor should be in the US if is still exists....
TRG was the last place to have the motor.

I agree, pretty amazing! Those motors haven't been raced since 2001 and most have been upgraded to a later engine configuration. I purchased all the engines and motor parts TRG, Brumos and Flying Lizards had a few years ago to feed my racing program so it was part of that parts stash.

Amazing that your motor has been located.
How do you find the serial number for the motor that is original to a cup chassis? And then, where is that number found on the motor block?
Thanks

Pat, if you know someone with access to the Porsche systems, they can print off the original delivery info for your Cup. I have the info on mine - VIN along with serial numbers for engine and transmission. Not sure about location of engine serial number on a Cup motor.
Anyone?

On the R, RS and RSR motors, the 8 digit number is stamped in the dished surface of the case that is the old saddle area where the fan housing used to sit. It's likely in the same place for Cup engines.
All the motors have the engine type numbers stamped on the upper right rear of the case near the right chain housing. The engine type number really ID's that it's a Cup engine or otherwise. This is the same place they have always been since the air blowing days.

Original Porsche Build INFO
If you have a bill of sale and pictures of the VIN on the chassis as well as the window, you can contact Porsche Motorsports in Germany and they can provide the original build information. It is pretty cool, you get the engine, roll cage, gearbox SN's, and option codes etc. For example my car was delivered with the lemans package, including quick oil fill, endurance brakes, enhanced lighting, etc..
They are very protective of this information so they will want to verify you own the car. Porsche motorsports has been great.

You're better off with your local dealer. Each after sales employee has access to the build sheet of each serial number in their ipass program. Show them proof you own the car. That will help.
