It may be different in Europe. I'm sure I've had dashes upgraded to 8 mb and 40 I/O in the US. The last one I did was this past January. I have another one to upgrade to 8 mb and Pro in the next couple months.

^ I'm on 8Mb and that works well for me but I have no shock pots. Agree once you start sampling stuff at 500/1000Hz the extra memory becomes a NECESSITY.

At 500hz that is default for shock pots the memory eats up fast

200 Hz will be fine for shock pots, but 16 mb is the way to go. Now to figure which way to adjust the shock when you look at the shock data, it is truly a science. I'm putting shock pots on my car so I can try to learn how to use the data.

For those prices I'll continue to export the data and use other analysis tools for my shock pots

I hope we can all share what we learn on shock pot analysis. There is alot to it.

Clakos makes a good point. You could use an AIM EVO 4 logger (only weighs 240 g and very compact) which lists for $1199, to log your shock pots. It has a memory of 16 mb and can manage 5K hz. Once you sort out your car you could sell the EVO and the shock pots and recover most of your money. AIM software is free and is pretty good with suspension histograms. Here is a sample of two rears on a 996 Cup.

I just export the data as csv from I2 standard and then make the histograms etc. But I have access to analysis tools (matlab) that most others dont.

I've looked at getting Matlab but figure it will just lead to headaches while trying to learn it. I can most everything in RS2 that I want and I have a killer spreadsheet in Excel for analysis.

For those of you who are Linux savvy there is a free equivalent called Octave: https://www.gnu.org/software/octave/

There are also Python equivalents.

Good information here: http://fsae.scripts.mit.edu/motorhea...eedarticle.doc

excel spreadsheet that provides the analysis... https://sites.google.com/site/jorgesegers2/technical down towards the bottom
