Attention "stock" Cup Car 'West Coast" racers
Is there a racing club with a stock cup car class where one could race only on the west coast and go for a championship? POC had one (GTC I think it was), but they went with a HP to Weight format, so most of the cup cars there have since been modified (wider fenders, bigger tires, etc.). Competent Motorsports I've heard is all stock cup cars, but they now travel all over the US with just a few west coast events. For a completely stock cup car, I don't think there is a racing club where one could compete with other stock cup cars for an actual championship and only race on the west coast. True?

Of all their racing events, I do see 7 total this year that are on the west coast. My next question would be if these 7 events are treated separately for a championship run, or could a racer run a few events outside of the west coast and therefore have a points advantage. I will contact them - thanks for your response Stujelly!

There is a West Coast series. No events are counted that are not part of the series. Come to Miller in September. There will be at least 4 GTC3 cars and a number of the GTC4 & 5 cars. I run a C3 car so I keep track of the local guys anyway.

POC does still have a GTC3 class as does PCA.
I know of two guys running the West Coast Series next year but they will be in GTA2 as will I.
+1 on Miller in September, great track.

Thanks Surfbum - POC is out for me. Out of 8 races, only 3 had more than one person running that class (and never more than 2).
I'll look into PCA for sure. Yes, Miller is awesome - one of my fav's.

We have at least one member who seems to be having quite a bit of fun running his GTC-3 car in GT3. The GTC cars have great gearing, decent aero, and run the same or larger brakes and tires as most of us in GT3.
If you have not already, please come out and run with us before you completely write off the POC.
Cheers,

Thanks Krokodil.
I don't know exactly what my HP is, but it's a 2012 GT3 cup - so I believe it's 450hp. I don't think it could be dialed back far enough to get in GT3. GT2 is where I see them at POC... and they are all modified with flared fenders, wider track, bigger tires.

Yes, your 2012 would need to be in GT2, which is hurting a bit this year with the loss of a couple of former regulars. However, the .2 Cups running right know are pretty much stock (Loren Beggs, Chris Thompson, Dan Burnham, Sohaib, etc.). You may be surprised how well you do.

My bad as well, I also thought you were running a 996 cup, please do try POC GT2 class, that class is VERY competitive.
Krokodil can give you the numbers in class.

For POC, GTC5 has had one car all year. GT2 has had no more than 3 racers per event. I'm use to fields like GT4 - which had 14 competitors at the last event.
Thanks guys, I'll take a look closer look at the next event (BW).

Also, there is a GT2 class Turbo Cayman S that is being built right now (not me). It may be ready for BW, but will certainly be running by September.

Is MikeGT Monsolve?? If so, I'm not sure GT2 would be any fun for you; you'd probably be about 3-4 seconds ahead of the current GT2 pace.
That said, the Enz's (Andrew and Gunter) just purchased 2 2012 Cup's from Fieda (spl?), so that class will start to grow
Brandon Griffith purchased one as well (and looks to have good pace), but I'm not sure he's racing with POC anymore

Mike, just enter your 2012 in GT1 or move your GT4 to GT3 (I think 299 is considering this). Who's car did you buy?
