2006 Cup 4 hours on brand new tub. Wright Motorsports sold and maintained from day one. Club run only by well known and respected driver for 3 years or so. Next owner spun 2nd weekend and tubed the car. The car was rebuilt slowly due to finances. I purchased with just under 35 original hours. I am moving into cup series after getting up to speed in car over this summer. Motor with pmna seals never opened. Gearbox was inspected when tub was replaced. Front of box with pmna seals. Car just ran Watkins Glen and set short track SCCA record on a cold day. 65k $ in receipts recently. This car is ready to go. Can be seen in Buffalo ,NY area. ATC aluminum trailer 24 feet built for this car. Very nice and light with lots of extras. The car is surgically clean and true with a new tub , built by one the best Cup shops in the USA. 90k car 105k car and trailer
2 sets of wheels
Blipper rod style
Motec memory upgrade
Motec shift light pod
Motec GPS
New Schroth belts
Fire bottle thru 2015
Optima red top agm battery
Chase cam
PFC pads 80 miles
AMB transponder
Air wand
Updated headers/muffler 2008 rear bumper cover
Porsche factory cup cover

Good to see you moving up the ladder! I'd like to follow your footsteps soon. Until then, GLWS--this looks like the PERFECT practice car for that aspiring somebody.

I am punishing myself but I want to know how far off the race pace I am.

I was just there last week with nj pca.

Thanks

Bump, let's talk price I gotta make next year happen

GTgears 10-11-2014 02:31 AM

I mean no offense, but that gearbox is 4 generations old. While those first gens were bullet proof (I know since we were the oem and still have some replacement parts on my shelves that neither Motorsports nor Holinger stock) the reality is that gearbox is a $20-25k expense to rebuild and update within the next year of racing. You wanna sell the car? Price has to drop accordingly.
Anything on the market gen 1/2 997 is worth $20k less than an 09+ built gearbox with updates.

Like i said, not looking to hurt your sale. '06 gearboxes are bulletproof when fresh. But for your asking price I would pay a gearbox guy $1000 labor to inspect and reseal your gearbox. It really can add 5 figures to your sales price.

As ad indicates box was opened and inspected 4 hours ago. The price reflects the overall condition of the car which includes a brand new tub. Gear boxes are simple and easy , a car with a beat to **** tub and multiple "pulls" isn't . Thanks for your input. When any buyer is truly serious the car will be dropped off at Wright Motorsports and Brian Copans will open the box.

Also this is an original under 40 hour car not one that the motor and box have been rebuilt multiple times.

i dont mean to hijack this thread but may i ask gt gears how the cup car gear box differs from the 997 1 street car gear box .i know this is a rudimentary question but the answers i am getting are all over the place and pretty non-specific
btw i am interested in the car . i currently drive a 997 street/race car and tend to practice a lot of hours so i am somewhat concerned about "counting" hours
thank you

aspenripper 02-07-2015 08:29 AM

If interested in car call me 716-432-8957 The cup box is sequential the street car is not they are very different. For specifics on a street gt3 box I would call Brian Copans if your concerned about wear and tear and hours etc. Thanks Ed
