996 Cup Steering Rack Leak
My steering rack is just starting to leak Does any know where I can fiend a rebuild kit? Not sure if a 996 GT3 street rebuild kit is the same.

Had a leak on the 11' 997 Cup and changed out the complete rack because there were no rebuild-kits.
Don't know if it's the same for the 996... But I would wonder if there would be one from the factory.

IIRC, you can use a boxster or some other street car steering rack and some parts from the cup steering rack. You do not need to buy a new "cup" steering rack.

I've got a gt3 rack I could sell you cheap. Only difference is the stops are set to street turn to turn. So you can leave as is or set stops at cup turn to turn, ratio is the same.

OP, check with the dealer and see if there's an open recall on them. The 1992 964 Cup Car I bought 3 months ago had an open recall related to the steering system and was honored by the dealer including parts and labor + alignment.

2.98*47=140.06mm full movement
- (2x35mm)=70.06 with spacers
50.02% so~540° of steering wheel rotation. ~32° of total wheel angle LtL.
