Default How to reduce driver temperature?

I get hot driving my 996 cup car. People say that I am glowing when I get out of the car.
I would like to install a driver cooling system and was wondering what works the best. I am curious about helmut blowers, and shirts that cool.
Any help would be AWESOME!

I usually toss down four or five beers before a race and keep one in the car for that wait on the grid.

(I use a 986 system - now Momo - but prefer the FAST shirt with it)

Cool suit- always have been a purest and thought real men dont need cool suits. Well it all changed when I got my Cup car this year and it has the fixed windows. Now I love the cool suit and try never to drive without it.

Helmet blower is more effective than a cool suit, IMO. But if you're getting that hot, you may as well install both and use whatever is needed.

Thank you everyone!
It sounds like a cool suit would help for sure. I am leaning toward a cool suit and helmet blower combination.
fleadh - What helmet and blower do you have? It must be working well for you.

I was surprised by how hot the 996 cup was inside and ended up getting a Stand 21 suit to replace my trusty old Sparco...Amazing how much cooler it is now with the new suit and Momo cool shirt. Even in the August heat it was fairly comfortable.

Honestly I live in Florida and NO ONE I know runs anything without a cool shirt. Adding a helmet system would obviously help but I would add one thing at a time

as an aside I have moved from the standard shirt with all the hose to the 986 bladder shirt, MUCH better cooling, much more contact with your skin.

When you got the 986 shirt did you notice a higher consumption of ice than with the Cool Shirt? Did the Cool Shirt pump flow water at a sufficient volume? Any glitches in the change?

Not really, ice about the same, and cool shirt set up worked just fine.

Interesting....I checked out their website and most of their suits are 2 layer but still SFi rated. Reducing the heat would sure help, even with a cool shirt it's darn hot especially with windows.

I always run with windows in and no coolsuit...in Texas. Thats how I practice, then in a race I have put in the coolsuit occasionally when its extreme, gives You a big advantage over Your competition for sure.
