We run a tilton 5.5 triple plate clutch and it's a regular g96 box like is used in all the 996s. The box is out of an 02 RS.

There you go Mo, that would be a great way at going after GT2 next year.

Clay, just watched the first video.......Thats exactly why I won't take PZ out to their events......actually makes me think about renting a car to qualify for Nationals instead of taking out the 996 cup

Clay are you sure it's not a G50? I'd be surprised if a G96/97 would bolt up. Pretty sure a 02' GT3 RS uses a G50 but I could be wrong....

Positive it's not a g50. All the 996s used some variant of the G96. Only the 1999 Supercup used a version of the rod shifted g50.

I just checked my manuals. The 02 RS manual says "G96/91" but most of the part numbers for the gearbox are identical to my 03 cup manual which says "g96/97." It's the cable shifted box with the water heat exchanger...perhaps some subtle difference to the regular cup box that I'm not sure of.

I think JR is just getting a little bit confused as the C2 box is also a G96 designation (g96/00 and g96/01)
The gt3, cup etc boxes are g96 aswell though look nothing like the C2. They are indeed very similar to G50 but don't carry that designation.

Great vids btw clay, car is sounding fantastic and going to match too. Holy hand speed batman!!

Eh, it can happen anywhere. Just look at the video from the boxster getting rolled at Willow with POC. People need to check their mirrors - this is not stressed enough when we're "coming up." I don't care how fast you are, but check your mirrors!

Thanks Neil. Hope your projects are going well. Ya, I didn't realize how busy my hands were until I watched the videos - I have been trying to make an effort to be a bit more deliberate and smooth on the wheel. I may soften her up a bit. I think I'm wasting the front tires by sawing so much.
