This is a really good price on a 2005-2009 Cup. I might be selling mine at the end of this year and I wouldn't list it for anything near this low... :-)

Guys make me a reasonable offer.....this is a 997 cup selling for 996 cup prices..
I will haul it to Vegas for the next Pirelli Drivers Cup event if that helps.

GT3DE, I'll also reply here in case anyone else is interested.
It is my understanding that the 06 & 07 cups have modified 996 motors. I believe PMNA recommends rebuilds at 75 hours, but many club racers are getting well over 100 hours out of 996 cups.
PMNA recommends rebuilds on 08 & 09 cups at 50 hours, and I just had PMNA rebuild my 08 cup for around $23,000. My car had 75 hours on the motor and neither car read any major over revs.
If anyone has info contrary to the recommended hours, please chime in.

05.5-09 are identical engines. The 07 had a better port match from intake to heads than the earlier 996intake which wwas used on the 05.5 and 06. 08-09 had the twin flap plenum and larger throttle body with different exhaust. Motors are identical to street engine except no variocam. 08,09 Grand Am engine had a different cam profile and higher rev limit. Along with RSR style exhaust. Motor refresh is recommended at 100 hours with all by PMNA. Earlier with overrev.
Hope that is helpful.

Has Doug dumped the ECU? Any over-revs then? Glen- what about the sequential gearbox... what is recommended interval for refresh? What does that run? Man I want one of these after watching (and listening to) the Cups run at Rennsport this past weekend. Any interest in a trade for my 2010 GT3?

So short answer is to add a blipper if there is not already one on it if You have a 7 Cup, cheap insurance. I recommend the Porsche piece, works like a charm.
Refresh can be 8k-20k depending how much You hurt on the gearbox. An overrev up to @10k would not worry me btw. Have actually seen 11300 on a car a friend had and it still flew, although if it is a IMSA car Porsche will want to freshen it if they see north of 9-9500. Club car, if it hauls and You didnt prang a valve...drive it and watch for a crankcase pressure spike on data to warn of impending doom. Great cars. This one being a 05.5 will have European race history as the first cars to come to the USA were 06. It will also have smaller brake master cylinders because it originally ran ceramics but very well may have been swapped to the larger masters for the steel rotors by now. Sure Doug has that info.
Looks like a great car!
