I get it, sorry!!!! It's tough being me, after racing and living CHEAP for so long, to spend more on gears than I used to spend to race for a whole year

Hey there Mike,

You might want to try Brian, I think last I heard he had some. I understand where you are coming from on cost though, at nearly $2K a gearset from PMS, the prospect of regearing with OEM gears gets pretty expensive.

Just in case I run across some though what gears and are you looking for specifically? I will ask around and see what I can come up with for you.

Mike,

I believe I have some stock gears that were replaced when we upgraded the gearboxes in our WC cars.

Let's touch base on Monday.

Those are early synchronized(2005 and older) Cup Car gears (and silly expensive at that). What Mike is looking for 2nd generation (2008+) sequential gears with the slip fit dog.

Brian Copans rebuilt my tranny with 5 new gears, R & P, sliders, and all sorts of new parts so it should be good for a few years. I may get that auto blip Manthey unit to make it last longer and make my downshifts easier. it's possible that buying it could pay for itself easily, many times over... (if you are not an expert downshifter).

so, lots of the 997 boxes need repair due to the hard downshifts? multiple clutch in/out while threshold braking and blipping?
