Default 996 Cup- Upgrade seat to HANS

I have 996 Cup '03, and in '04 the seats were HANS compatible, and being 6' 4", I suppose I need to upgrade the seat. Does anybode know the differerence beteween Pro Racer SPG (GFK) HANS and the Pro Racer HANS SPA?

The Spa seat is much more expensive.

Exactly. It's lighter, some people believe a couple lbs. to be worth an extra $1000.

For Recaro:
SPG means fiberglass.
SPA means CF.

once u decide spg vs spa, you need to figure out if you need XL version.
if i had a track only car that's trailer'd, i would use the normal (narrow) version. but i drive the car on street too and the normal version is just too tight. i am 180lbs, 5'9", 33" waist to give you a reference. i do fit the narrow seat, but it's not fun if you sit in it for more than an hour at a time unless you are on the race track.

patrik, the car in avatar is a street USA spec 996GT3. the seat and the "ricey" decals may have thrown you off.

i am in the same boat. when on track, i prefer the narrower hans as i settle into the seat. but driving to the track and home, i like the hans XL.
