David Glen 386 405 1249 is PMNA Sachs rebuilder. Depends on the condition, costs will vary as a result.

Most of the companies I have spoken to about rebuilding my JRZs and Motons all charge about $150 per shock for a straight rebuild including the parts, then about $50 per shock to dyno them. For some reason JRZ USA was about twice as expensive as anyone else I talked to for the rebuild and dyno. I'd expect Sachs pricing to be in the same ball park.

I have to give props to David Glen at Ocean Shore MS. He rebuilt my shocks, dyno'ed them, didn't quite like the results and went the extra mile to make them perfect. He kept me in the loop the whole time. Great Service

I have mine done by Sachs directly. Costs vary depending on work done and any updating needed. Figure baseline of $200/shock. E-mail Dean Dodge at dean.dodge@zf.com.

Dean Dodge rocks.
and he has all the engineering behind them. he's helped us many times well beyond just the rebuild.

Default David Glenn is the man!

Bought a 2002 996 cup with the 2005 upgrades and got what appear to be the original Sachs 2-way dampers. First cup car for me and the only one I have driven. The dampers seemed fine, so I drove for two years and a total of 22 hours. This spring I decided to have the dampers refreshed, just because it seemed the right thing to do. Of course I decided to do that at the last minute after the car sat all winter.

Found this thread and a couple of others on Rennlist and called David Glenn. If you have Sachs dampers, you need to talk with him. Great, quick service at more than reasonable cost, and the car? Well, let's just say it's transformed when running over FIA curbing. Planted and so very smooth. Night and day difference.

You can get David at oceanshorems@aol.com or 386 405 1249. He's now retired from PMNA, but he still rebuilds Sachs products and has a good supply of parts, a dyno and years of knowledge.

My goal was to get my dampers reset to factory standard so that I have a good starting point. I should have sent them to David when I first bought the car. Live and learn. PMNA suggest a refresh annually; David suggests bi-annually. I made myself a note to do again in two years, but this time in the winter when I will not need to use overnight service!

Just tried to call Dean Dodge. He no longer works there at ZF. Need to call 734.416.6200. Then transfer to the Race Engineering group. Just as an FYI, a standard rebuild from there is $360 a corner these days (assuming no broken or bent parts)

Resurrecting an old thread here.....

Just had David Glenn (Oceanshore Motorsports in Flagler Beach, FL) rebuild all four of my shocks plus a front and rear spare. One front and one rear had accident damage and one bump canister had to be replaced. David has all six rebuilt (all new parts where needed), re-oiled, matched, dyno'ed and tested back to factory specifications. All of this in FOUR DAYS!!! He received my shocks last Thursday and has them on the truck headed back to me today.

Count me as one VERY SATISFIED CUSTOMER! Kudos to David for GREAT SERVICE, and thanks to those of you who suggested him. Looking forward to seeing what my "new" ride is like.

Toby
