Ran the NASCAR config of Sonoma over the weekend. The fantastic Mr. Ryan Holst took a photo that I love of me going through 8A

How about the original Cup car.
This is the car that started the Rothmans Turbo Cup series. It was used in 1987
for the Mosport 24hr race by Deacon, Bye, and Cam Champion. Deacon was the founder of the series. They brought this car in to test for next years races.
I know it is not a 911 Cup but it's the car that pushed the series to where it is today!

Hey Pete
it's been under development for the last 6 months so I've only seen it at a couple races ...
but last race they seem to have it right - the fastest 2010s do 256kph on the main back straight at East London .. this car did 271!!
I know HP numbers are often loosely bandied around but the head of Motec SA told me the car is doing 800 on conservative boost (1.0?) after he fitted that dash, telemetry and tuned the car
... will drive again with that car next week and should know more but the idea was to use a 4.0L crank and fancy ti rods and short skirted pistons to suit the twin turbos

My CUP refresh is almost done, we finished the engine build last night and besides refeshed suspension she got new livery a new seat and some other bits and pieces.
First test tomorrow and Saturday is racing time!!
