Restoring the 2003 Supercup Champion
His all, thought this might be of some interest to this group. I made the plunge earlier this year to have my 2003 996 cup restored back to its former glory. The car was driver by Frank Stippler to the 2003 Supercup championship and later raced in PCA. Pre-restroation, the car was in good shape, but had certainly seen its fair share of action over the years with at least one decent hit to the front of the car. Coupled with normal wear and tear, it was time to bring her back.
All work is being done by AJR Restorations. If you get a chance, I would highly recommend checking out the shop. From all the trophies to the various cool cars, it's an amazing part of Porsche racing history. First step is to disassemble the car down the car down to the bare chassis and see what we've got. Overall it was in good shape, with only one notable repair to the front. But it's still a 20 year old race car that has seen some action over the years.

This was removed and a factory tank fitted, but the scars remained. I have the Team car that Tim Bergmiester drove, just refreshed the motor and gearbox, love the 996 platform.

Wow what a great effort from you and Theo and the AJR crew, would love to see the car in person when completed, it is great to keep these 996 SuperCup cars alive. I know Theo has this one too which is one of my favorite 996 SuperCup.
