Red shift light stayed on

So my 3 race in last weekends Lime Rock race about half way through the red shift light comes on and doesn't go off. Freaked me out for a second I was checking oil pressure and temps all ok. When I came in after the race and turned the car off then on it went out .

Just want to make sure its not a warning light for anything else ? I attributed it to being wet for 3 days and some fluke thing

Any ideas?

Thanks

mine is missing the cover so I didn't even know it was supposed to be red...

Bob - Lol

Anyone know if its tied into anything else but tach?

Where is the red light? Mine only has one orange light on the left side of the column (2003 cup).

^^ do they both flash simultaneously? What year is yours Steve? Mine is a 2003 and the only red light on my car is in the center of the dash (where the switches are) and it is a warning light for high gearbox and engine temp.

According to the 2005 Manual, the orange light on the left is a "shift light" and the red light on the right is a "water level" light.

05 the light stayed on during the race-

John- I will check water level tonight the temps seemed fine . I couldn't find that in the manual Thanks (remember a clean car is a faster car ) :)

Looks like I'm missing the end cap with the orange lens. I feel so inadequate. If anyone knows a source for the light, let me know.

Cheers,

Bob

thinking back in years past- Is that a sign of a stuck thermostat? or one sticking?

Page 9 of the 2005 manual. And yes, a clean car is a faster car! I think that's why you like to race in the rain.;)

Water level

Steve113 05-10-2019 04:39 PM

Yes it was just below the MIN line I filled it up just above it ( only about 6 ounces or so)- I hope that's solved
