Default Factory Built GT3-R/S/R Chassis Register - 1999 to 2019.

Hey Folks,

I have been tracking factory built GT3-R/S/R cars for many years and now have 20 years of chassis lists from 1999 (996 GT3-R) to 2019 (991.2 GT3-RSR).

http://www.webbimages.co.uk/chassisindexpage.htm

Many of you have contacted me in the past with ownership details that I have added to the register. I have some time on my hands at the moment so please feel free to send any updates you wish to be included on the site.

My aim is to record the provenance of these wonderful cars and assist current and future owners with an accurate record of use. I have recently moved the pages to .PDF documents to make updates easier so please use the link above to access.

All the best,

Steve Webb.
London, UK.

Maybe you can include the factory Grand Am cars, another special version of the GT3 cups using some Cup S and RSR parts. I have the factory manual for my '08 if you'd like it.

Thanks you for this. On the two 996's listed in the 'can you ID these' section, when/where were those photos taken?

Both missing cars were entered in the Australian GT Championship.
Likely the #8 was piloted by Simon Middleton for Simon Middleton in 2005, and 2008 and by Peter Hill in 2007.
Looks like the #12 was piloted by Mark Eddy, for Quarterback (Shirts), in 2005 and 2006. That last race for it would have been November 26th, 2006.
Poking around for more info.

There’s a damaged and stripped “996 GT3 Factory Cup Car Bare Shell” for sale here (Link). No VIN listed so I can’t tell if it’s already on you list.

I have the factory info and some Grand-Am info. They were a specific build for the US Grand Am series.

Looks like about 10 in 2008 with cut-down CF front fenders: (TRG x 3, Synergy, Alegrax2 , Farnbacher x 2, Autometrics, Gotham
about 7 in '09 with CupS front fenders (TRG x 4, JLowe, Farnbacher, and Wright)
plus 2 more '09s that started racing in 2010 (TRG)
about 6 more in 2011

VIN and more info was at http://www.grand-am.de/cars/GT/yporsche.html maybe internet archive can still find it?

Adding G-A cars would make sense for 08 & 09 since they were marketed as such, but around 2010 (997.2 era) the lines between Cup and G-A got a bit blurry. It was my, perhaps mis, understanding that for the gen 2's you started with a Cup, added Crawford aero, then stuffed some RSR suspension bits on it. The question becomes: Where is the line, what makes a G-A something other than a built up Cup? '07 also seems built rather than Porsche direct. You can find examples of 07 with updated 09 S style bodywork, WP0ZZZ99Z7S798147 2009: #89 Farnbacher Loles (to S body work in 2009) for example.

Here's what I have, wish I had kept better track of sources for cross-referencing.

If you want 07 and 10 I can go back through and see which ran G-A. IIRC the numbering is less sequential.
