Default WTB: Sobek Air Jacks

Hi all,

I'm looking for a single front and one or two rears for my late 996 Cup. Let me know if you have anything laying around.

Cheers,

Bob

Assume you've tried rebuilding? My front is currently leaking and I'm fearful of it not being rebuild-able so naturally I've done nothing about it!

You can try the rebuild route with Cup Car Solutions. However, I've found that most times the answer I get back is that the air jack can't be rebuilt, and I had to buy a new one. Only source that I know of in the US is Cup Car Solutions in GA.

I've talked to Jack and Cup Car Solutions and have sent him my rears for eval. I fear they are not salvageable and am looking for spares. My front is working but mismatched.

I have head one or more stories like this too. Can you elaborate on what makes them unable to be rebuilt? There is no such service here in Aus for less than 1K AUD (just for rebuild, not supply) so I have considered sending my front one to Cup Car Solutions but I’d rather not waste time and $ on postage to USA if I’m only going to be told it can’t be rebuilt.

As I recall, once CCS had the jack, the body of the jack was determined to be pitted and scarred. Apparently, the actual body of the airjack that extends down needs to be really smooth and clean to operate properly. Any mars or imperfections render the airjack non-rebuildable. I have seen the seals kit to rebuild these jacks sold in Europe and I think you can also buy directly from Sobek in Germany. I think the only tricky part about rebuilds is containing the spring that is a part of the jack assembly.
