Default Fuel drain point for 996 cup

I want to drain the fuel from my 996 cup to change the fuel filter and wondering where the drain hose is installed into the fuel system? My thinking is it’s the plastic fitting with “CPC” etched into it. If this is correct, how do I remove the cap on the fitting? I can push it downwards but cannot actually remove the cap.

TIA.

You don't need to drain the fuel to replace the filter, just undo the fittings slowly & release the pressure & replace the filter

Below is the fuel drain point just pull the black cap off & plug in the specific fuel drain hose then flick the fuel pump switch all the way up with the ignition on

^^^ Thanks James. There is was looking me right in the face the whole time. I was keen to have a go at using the drain hose but won’t bother if it’s not going to leak a whole
lot. Was mostly concerned about the hose with the plastic clip fitting.

No, that is a coolant hose. James P's picture is the fuel drain. You need the Porsche specific fuel drain hose to plug into that fitting.

thanks, I have the fuel drain hose so will give it a go as the fuel in there is probably 3 months old. What is the plastic coolant fitting used for?

The coolant fitting is for pressure filling the coolant system with the specific pump from Sobek

Rather than having to bleed the system manually? A pump no one has or uses evidentially.

Yes, some do have it, but the Airlift is a really great alternative and it fits in the tool box to take to the track.

Looks like a handy tool to add to the list. Do you just run it off your nitrogen bottle?

It works by pulling a vacuum on the system, then drawing the coolant into the motor eliminating any air pockets.

The ventrui vacuum runs on compressed air. A lot of it, so off of a compressor is better than nitrogen.

Thanks
Ed
