If I get the engine number off my 6 cup motor, is there a resource for telling me when it was built and what is inside? I also have a 3 digit number found behind the idler pulley.
The 3 digit number behind the idler pulley is the Motorsports number you need to find out the history of the motor. Should look like it was input by hand with a punch.
That's what you need then, if you contact PMNA with that number they should be able to tell you if Porsche ever rebuilt that motor, when its origin was etc.
