Installing Recaro P1300 in 997
For those of you that have done this, what was required to do so? The seat has the flexible seat slider bracket included.
Thanks |
I have one in my 997 Cup. I didn't put it in but I believe it just bolted in. Used the same slider I think.

Its lighter than my GT2 buckets. This is not going in a 997 cup car, its going in a 997 street car that is going to track duty. I will not be driving with this on the street. Plus, it is the only Hans seat that fits me, the Recaro Hans XL looks like im ripping the seat apart. In this case, doesnt pay to be an athlete and gym rat.

Sure it's one of the most comfortable seat. But 14.7kg for seat with pads + 10.7kg for flexible adapter is a little bit more than GT2 buckets.

Isn't the pro Ultima a lighter seat than the p1300, and a wider shell?

Hopefully you can do a loose test fit before purchasing. The seat is very wide and may not fit in a street car with interior trim. Odds are you will not be able to close your door because the door trim panels are too thick. Might interfere with the b-pillar as well. Lastly if you do manage to get it in, you may have to keep your window down all the time. The halo may touch/interfere with the glass. Best of luck, VID |
We got it in my stock e race car, a 1987 911
Best seat ever. |

Depending on how far back you need your seat the shoulder wings may come in contact wit the B-pillar. I have a Cobra Sebring Pro Technology "Standard" in my car which fit fine when I had all the interior in place. My friend bought the "GT" version which is 30mm wider and it rubs on the interior, center tunnel, and window. They inserted a bunch of pads to help minimize damaging the leather interior bits. See attached for reference/measurements. Can you find stats for the P1300? Hope this helps...???
Best, VID https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/rennlis...3b5038485f.png Found one! https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/rennlis...5d30b50150.png Hmm...look at the specs on this one: https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/rennlis...a67d54b506.png |
Thanks for that, so the biggest potential issue is the 630mm of width at the shoulder area. The 520mm at the thigh bolster area is the same as your seat.
Whats odd to me is how it rubs on the window, as ive seen it in 997 cups without that issue and the tub and mounting points between street car and that arent different. This seat isnt hanging out the window on the cup car. In terms of how far back I need to be able to go, Im 5'11" so not significantly back. |
Would hate to see you outlay that kind of $$$$ only find out it won’t work for your application. Best of luck and keep us posted. VID |
