Cosworth Training at a PCA Club Race event?
A number of folks have asked me about Cosworth training. Which really there isnt. It is not intuitive, but still very powerful. I asked a PMNA contact about the possibility of a class at a Club Race especially where the East / West Trophy Series would be racing. Question is #s? If a class for even a few hours could be put on at say Watkins, Road America, VIR, etc would you sign up? What if it cost a few hundred $$s? I think even some of the car teams might be interested in sending some of their folks as now the 991 are eclipsing the 997s as the Cupcar to have for PCA. Just respond here with your thoughts. Then we will see. Still early in the season so something could happen.

yeah, id be in. that dang thing frustrates me, and my use, needs are so simplistic. probably 2 hours and most folks could look at the couple of things they want to check out.

Bob, I think a concise hour long basic-function class would be very valuable. I agree that it's not intuitive but is a great toolset. In an hour you can cover extracting the session, rendering the parameters you want to see, and overlaying multiple drivers and sessions. The 90% solution!

I can't imagine that it would work at an event, just too busy, especially at the big events. They usually do a class once a year, when and where is that?

why don't we do an online video conference? perhaps 1 camera just showing the car for a bit, connections, how to get hooked up, dash configuration though not much possible)
and then like a 90minute session session showing the basic stuff, offloading data, modifying the dash configs (the very little they allow).
loading up dash configus, downloading data.
loading data in toolbox and the simple things like loading up a bunch of logged values and looking at them as you work through a lap, comparing laps.
you know, th ebasics.
you could do that online. charge like $100 head for a 90 minute session or offer it at no charge and earn eternal motorsports good charma.
you could use like GoToMeeting or teamviewer and everyone could see you laptop and also dial in.
probably 900X more convenient, and efficient than doing it on a busy track weekend.
and you could record it and then charge folks long term to access the recording if they missed it live.

Agree completely...... Do it anytime outside a race weekend. Bound to be plenty of shops new to 991 Cups interested in learning.
