991.1 Cup Part Out
As previously posted, Im posting the entire car for sale at this point as a part out after assessing damage to the car a bit further. The damage is structural to the car, and did not damage a great amount of parts (mainly suspension on the rear), and thus going to offer the car up as a part-out until a decision is made to re-tub or not.
The car is as follows:
991.1 GT3 Cup w/6400 miles on it total, it has been meticulously maintained throughout its life and condition of the parts will reflect such.
Things that are available (major items):
- Complete PMNA sealed powertrain
- Large amount of body work, including doors, clean front end/nose, wing
- Electronics such as: Bosch ABS, Shiftec paddle shift system, Motec Piggyback/Cosworth ECU setup, complete wiring loom
- Front suspension assembly, steering rack/pinion, fuel cell/pumps, radiators w/lines
- Complete brake setup (rotors, calipers, lines, etc.)
Nearly the entire car is available as this outlines, going to take PM's in order on parts available. It definitely needs a re-tub and looking at the option of parting it out or re-tubing the car.
PM part numbers, description of parts, anything along those lines and Ill take a look at each of the parts.

It did crack the rear carrier on the left rear, but the upright is undamaged at this point (would confirm once taken off the car and inspected).

It is a yes and no answer, you can see what it did to the tub and that rail that is cracked (cast Aluminum) goes up into the floor pan which you cannot replace (attached w/self-piercing rivets that can't access to reinstall even if could get a new part).

i wonder if porsche anticipated the kind of attrition they're seeing with 991 tubs??

I don't get it????
Does it really make more sense to sell everything off vs. re-tub?
The tub is 12k from Porsche (as an exchange) and labour is about 200hrs.
So with about 30k investment you have a 150k car again.
You think you can get 120k by parting it out?

The credit here is 10k for the owner if you cut up/crush with proof to Porsche...may be worth exploring...i don't think the owner will get the credit unless tub is purchased through local support channel so the 10k probably disappears from the equation.
