How cool is that? Impressive Colorado collaboration.

Looking forward to hearing that it is in motion again.

I've put 6000 miles on my 2006 CS in the last year. I hope I am keeping it bathed in nourishing lubrication. Still, my car has 148K fewer miles than this one, so hopefully blown engine won't be upon me immediately.

It's in pieces. Broke a valve spring and bent a valve. Still a full rebuild, just won't need a crank or new girdle like so many of them.

Bought a 2006 Carrera S with 55K miles. Porsche has been in my blood and daily driver for 38 years so far. Over 600K miles and this was my first big failure.

For the miles on the car it is a very minor failure. People bag on the newer engines but I'm impressed.

I have about 30 miles each way commute and have had for the last 13 years I also drive other places during the day so I average about 15,000-20,000 miles a year I've used a 911 for a Cayman it's my daily driver for last 38 years. I enjoyed being in my car so why not get the Porsche feeling all the time rather than just on weekends Do my own basic maintenance so the cost is livable

Bob,
Do you have a list of all the repair and maintenance items you've encountered in your 175k miles?
YOu might have one if the highest mile Caymans out there! Might be a good reference for others.

Bump...

It's alive. It has a Chris Cervelli remanufactured engine in it now, along with a proprietary 5spd short final drive gearbox w/LSD. It's a hoot to drive, even though I'm still breaking in the engine. Doesn't feel like a 173K mi car. Feels much younger than that.

Regards,

Matt

Oklahoma Foreign in Oklahoma City has been out-of-business for quite some time, unfortunately.

I am about to hit 100K on mine. Hoping to get this high in the future! Currently 99,995 on the clock. Since I bought the car 3 yrs ago with 56K, I was using it as a daily driver. Loved driving it every day. With Covid, mileage has dropped substantially. I believe they need to be run regularly to keep them oiled properly. I change oil every 4,000 miles with DT40.
