First post! (and 987.1 PCM question)
Hi all! First post here, and I'm a soon-to-be 987.1 S owner. I had a question about retrofitting PCM into the car.
It has Sport Chrono w/out PCM, and the Bose High End Sound System, according to the build sheet. That being the case, can I replace the CDR24 with an OEM PCM system? I understand there needs to be recoding and things like that, but I was looking at aftermarket systems, and it seems like there's a lot of work that goes into it, having to either splice into factory wiring, or bypassing the factory amplifiers to wire each speaker into the head unit.
If I can just pick up an OEM unit, drop it in, and recode it, it feels like that would be the easiest path. Is that a correct assumption?
Thanks for any info, and once I have the car in my possession (buying from out of state) I'll be sure to post up pictures!

Here is a link to the Suncoast site that offers PCM 2.1 upgrade from CDR 24. https://www.suncoastparts.com/product/987nav.html I am thinking about doing this. We purchased the car new in 2007 (2008 Cayman 2.7) and skipped a few options at the time. Currently having factory SPORT software and SPORT Exhaust fitted and this might be the next project. I have tried to get the standard A/C updated to A/C with the AUTO button, but that doesn't appear to be possible based on discussions with Suncoast.
Anyone have any experience upgrading from CDR24 to PCM 2.1?
