X73 suspension is relatively rare but it is excellent, much more track oriented than the PASM setup. It is factory on the Cayman R and I have little complaint about it, you have a to be a pretty damn good driver to push the limits of that shock/spring setup, although sway bars could use a little upgrade. Factory LCAs are junk, upgrade them immediately so you can run more camber and not wear the outside edge of your tires down. Factory pads/rotors/fluid don't hold up to hard track abuse (pads fade pretty easily, drilled rotors stress fracture, have to bleed fluid often). See if you can find one with PSE. The weakest links in regards to the performance of the car is the factory headers and software, and our Race Headers/PSE combination sounds incredible on top of the 20-30whp you will pick up.

There is so much to go over on this, so i'm shooting you over a PM and perhaps we can chat on the phone a bit. I'll be sure to help you make an educated decision moving forward
John--still hope to put your headers on my car, but I broke the piggy bank this winter on other stuff: frivolous junk like seats, harnesses, and a roll bar.

In response to your comment that by replacing the factory LCAs, "you can run more camber and not wear the outside edge of your tires down." I think you mean at the track, yes? My street tires are wearing like crazy on the inside now that I have 3% negative camber.

And I'll offer an additional word of caution w/r/t the stock brakes. In 2006, I took my first Cayman S, brand new, to Summit Point. By the end of the 3-day event, the stock pads were vapor, and the front rotors were toasted.

That's not frivolous, that's smart safety first haha. When you are ready for those headers give me a shout, that'll wake it up!

Yes that is correct. I put 9k miles on my CR last season, and mostly hard street driving to and from the track. Outside edge is whooped. 3degrees is a bit much for street use but awesome for track! That's what I plan on running as soon as I can sneak some LCA's past my wife

I also had that same experience with the factory pads. Brand new, went to a two day event and they were wasted by the end of the weekend and the stress fractures on the factory rotors exceeded my comfort zone
