Default 981 Plenum upgrade for Power

Anybody got any opinions on whether the power gains advertised with this are real? Seems like the 981 Cayman S is not very easy to mod and get power gains from. I'm also curious if this would void the factory warranty?

I would imagine anything touching anything engine related would give Porsche ability to avoid warranty if they wanted...heh.

From my reading on Planet-9 the plenums actually seem to rob power on the 981 unless you also have a tune applied. So it's best to do other mods first like headers / exhaust and tune. And then only apply the plenum/TB if you have a stage 2 or custom tune ready to be applied. That said, with a tune they absolutely will provide even more gains. Not personally experience just reading...

With my Cayman R, it provided a noticeable increase in performance. I have no dyno numbers, but the car did feel more alive.

With any N/A engine, there are minimal gains to be had. Intake plenum, throttle body, headers, etc. each will add a bit. But Porsche does a pretty good job of extracting the most performance they can. Except perhaps with their headers - those are the most convoluted, restrictive things I have seen!

thanks guys, i did upgrade to a Fabspeed Valvetronic exhaust. More so for sounds, which I love. When the valves are open it does feel a bit more powerful. But that may very well be because of the sounds and just in my head.
