Default My Code reader won't even power on when plugged in to my 06 CTT-S

Checked all the fuses and they were good. It's a cheap code reader from China. Do I need something that is self powered?

First, what's a "06 CTT-S"? And second, "It's a cheap code reader from China.".

Yes, what is a CTT-S?
Code readers typically derive all of the "power" needed from the OBD port.
Sometimes the car needs to have the ignition turned on.
Otherwise, you probably have a defective reader unit.
